The West Virginia Family Foundation (WVFF) is recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(4) education and public policy organization founded in 1992 to advocate for public policies to advance and protect religious freedom, the sanctity of human life and traditional family values derived from America’s Christian heritage. Through education, research, and advocacy in public policy, we ensure conservative views impact social, moral and family issues being considered by the governing bodies of our state.
WVFF is also the state affiliate of the American Family Association, one of the largest and most effective pro-family organizations in the country, with over two million online supporters and approximately 180,000 paid subscribers to the AFA Journal, the ministry’s monthly magazine. In addition, AFA owns and operates nearly 200 radio stations across the country under the American Family Radio (AFR) banner.
WVFF works closely with Liberty Counsel™, an international nonprofit litigation, education, and policy organization dedicated to advancing religious freedom, the sanctity of life, and the family since 1989. Liberty Counsel provides pro bono assistance and representation on these and related topics. Liberty Counsel, one of the premier pro-family law firms in the nation, have been involved in virtually every legal battle for the protection of traditional marriage since 2004 and provided the comprehensive language for the West Virginia Marriage Protection Amendment we pushed since 2001. The Liberty Center for Law & Policy (LCLP) operates as one component of Liberty Counsel’s training, education and public policy program. With offices in Washington, D.C. and on the campus of Liberty University School of Law in Lynchburg, Virginia, the LCLP trains attorneys, law students, policymakers, legislators, clergy and world leaders in constitutional principles and government policies.
